Root Gallery offers its restored riverside building in Krimpen aan de Lek as an exclusive venue for private rentals. Surrounded by contemporary art and the Dutch landscape, the gallery provides an intimate, inspiring setting just outside Rotterdam.

The location
A 1900s dike house redesigned as a gallery, easily accessible from Rotterdam and the Randstad. On-site parking, a bus stop at the gate, and cycle routes to the waterbus and metro make travel simple.

For schools & education
Through the CJP Cultuurkaart, Root Gallery welcomes school groups for an active introduction to contemporary art. Instead of long lectures, we focus on looking, asking questions and getting involved.
For schools, we offer
– Interactive visits to current exhibitions
– Conversations with artists about their work and materials
– Hands-on workshops linked to themes like architecture, design or sustainability
– Programmes tailored to VO and MBO classes (up to ±30 students, or in smaller groups if preferred)
We like to keep it direct and hands-on, so students can discover what art can mean to them.
Because our programme with artists and exhibitions keeps us busy, we recommend reaching out early to secure your preferred date.

A gathering at Root Gallery means coming together in a space where art shapes the atmosphere. To make planning easier, we’ve created a few ready-made packages:

Creative Thinking Lab 10–25 people · 2,5 hours
– Exclusive use of the gallery, arranged with chairs in theatre-style
– Coffee/tea/water on arrival
– A one-hour session with one of Root Gallery’s artists, built around a theme or challenge from your company
– The artist prepares in advance, brings their own artistic methods and perspective, and guides the group into new ways of thinking
– Time for dialogue afterwards to connect insights to your work
Total price: from €1.500 (incl. rental, set-up, facilities & artist fee)
→ Extra guest €10 p.p. (for groups over 25, up to 40)
A unique session at the crossroads of art and business: not a lecture, but an active lab for new perspectives and creative solutions.
Team inspiration day 10–20 people · 14:00–18:00
– Welcome coffee/tea in the gallery
– Kick-off session with your team in an inspiring art setting
– Interactive workshop with a Dutch artist (incl. materials), e.g. exploring themes like architecture, materiality, text & image, or working with colour
– Reflection and sharing of outcomes

Creative launch / book presentation 20-80 guests · Full day incl. set-up

Please note: the gallery is not available for rentals on Saturdays.
