Donald Schenkel

Donald Schenkel’s art is a masterclass in subtlety and precision. His work revolves around the delicate interplay between light, colour, and material. By working closely with the textures of oil paint, glass, aluminium, and wood, Donald evokes a sense of serene contemplation through his gradient compositions. Each piece is a reflection of his dialogue with the medium, exploring the boundaries between translucency and shadow, light and depth.

His use of geometrical shapes adds another layer of intrigue, often leaving viewers questioning whether these forms are floating in space or are defined planes within the gradient. This dynamic visual language is characteristic of Donald’s evolving body of work, where each new creation carries a reference to his past pieces, providing an ever-expanding universe of possibilities. His installations, sculptural works, and paintings resonate with a quiet, meditative energy that invites observers to pause and reflect.

Lisette Schumacher

Lisette Schumacher’s paintings are deeply rooted in her passion for architecture, particularly modern and mid-century designs. By immersing herself in iconic architectural sites across Europe and the United States, Lisette translates her experience of physical spaces into striking visual art. Her works capture the essence of place, from the history and atmosphere to the intricate design details that often go unnoticed.

Currently focused on the architectural landscape of Los Angeles, Lisette’s research-intensive process involves studying the history and intent behind each site before creating her pieces. Her practice moves beyond painting, occasionally venturing into sculpture and installation. With works in major corporate and private collections worldwide, Lisette continues to build on her rich understanding of how spaces shape our perception and how art, in turn, can reshape those spaces.

Karen van de Vliet

Karen van de Vliet’s art finds its origins in the ordinary. Her vibrant, abstract paintings are inspired by the unnoticed beauty of everyday moments. Whether it’s the worn patterns of a pedestrian walkway, the shape of weathered surfaces, or the cracks in a building, Karen finds magic in the details. This fascination with imperfection and nature’s transformative power is at the core of her creative process.

Water plays a significant role in her work, symbolising both the fluidity and constant change in life. Karen’s painting method is a delicate balance between controlled techniques and subconscious gestures, resulting in compositions that seem to flow effortlessly across the canvas. Through experimentation with pigments, materials, and forms, she captures the fleeting moments of life in her dynamic, ever-evolving style.
