Shipping & delivery

Shipping within the Netherlands & Belgium

Root Gallery offers complimentary delivery within the Netherlands and Belgium for most artworks.

Smaller works are typically carefully packed and shipped via registered delivery services. Larger, fragile, or more complex works are usually delivered personally by the gallery. Installation support can be arranged where needed.

Shipping costs for international orders are calculated automatically at checkout based on the artwork and destination. If you have specific questions regarding delivery times, transport options, installation, or international shipping, please contact us via contact@root.gallery before placing your order.

We aim to dispatch available works within a few working days. In some cases, additional time may be required for framing, custom crating, installation planning, or retrieval from storage. If this applies to your order, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Because each artwork requires a different approach in transport and handling, delivery arrangements may vary per order.

Would you like more time to decide or view a work in person first? Selected artworks can be placed on hold upon request. Please contact us via contact@root.gallery to discuss the possibilities.

Please note that colours and textures may appear slightly different in person due to screen settings and lighting conditions.

Import duties and local taxes outside the EU are the responsibility of the buyer.

Artworks remain the property of Root Gallery until full payment has been received.

While we carefully coordinate all shipments, Root Gallery cannot be held responsible for delays caused by third-party delivery services or circumstances beyond our control.

Damaged artwork

If an artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery via contact@root.gallery and include:

  • Photos of the outer packaging

  • Photos of the damaged artwork

  • Your name and order details

We will assess the situation and work towards an appropriate solution.

Returns

Returns are only applicable to artworks purchased directly through the Root Gallery website as an online purchase.

Artworks purchased in the gallery, during art fairs, through private viewings, or via personal consultation are considered final sales and cannot be returned.

For eligible online purchases, a return request must be submitted within 14 days of receiving the artwork. Return shipping and transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the artwork arrived damaged.

Returned artworks must be sent back in their original condition and packaging.

Installation advice is provided in good faith. Final responsibility for wall suitability and installation conditions remains with the buyer.

Force Majeure

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, including transport disruptions, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events, Root Gallery reserves the right to postpone or suspend deliveries where necessary.

Root Gallery works with private collectors, interior architects and corporate clients throughout the Netherlands and abroad. We regularly assist with the transport, delivery and installation of contemporary artworks, ranging from smaller framed works to larger sculptures and site-sensitive pieces.

The gallery is located just outside Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, and is open on Fridays and Saturdays or by appointment.
