Invitation I

Anna Oudhof

With the reopening of Root Gallery, we introduce a new recurring element within the exhibition programme: Invitation.

With each exhibition, one artist will be invited for a compact and focused presentation within the gallery. It is not a group show and not an open call. It is a deliberate choice: one artist, a clear selection of works, presented on a dedicated wall within the space.

The first edition introduces the work of Anna Oudhof.

Anna works intuitively. Her process unfolds through looking, testing and adjusting. Light and nature are not themes in a literal sense, but forces that shape the work. In her use of copper this sensitivity becomes tangible. The material responds to the surrounding light throughout the day. Reflecting, absorbing and slowly shifting in appearance. What initially seems stable reveals a subtle movement.

With Invitation, Root Gallery creates space for artists whose work we value and have often followed for years. It offers a considered platform within the context of the gallery and forms a deliberate extension of the programme.

These focused presentations allow visitors and collectors to encounter a broader range of materials and approaches within the same setting. Invitation reflects the position of the gallery today: grounded, established, and able to create room for new talent within a carefully built context.

Invitation I marks the beginning of an ongoing series at Root Gallery.
