Francisca Snel explores the contrast between darkness and transparency in Crystal Clear #19. Deep red, near-black and subtle turquoise tones surround a delicate copper mesh, inspired by an everyday cleaning sponge. The fine copper structure appears suspended within the blown glass, creating a striking contrast between the solid, substantial form and the intricate material inside.

Viewed from different angles or in changing daylight, the sculpture reveals unexpected colours and layers. Its dark palette gives the work a distinctive presence, while the transparency of the glass allows light to reveal details beneath the surface.
