Lisette Schumacher explores the expressive range of a concentrated palette in Coachella Views XVI. Saturated magenta moves through translucent lilac, surrounding a pale central form that seems to open up within the composition. Along the right edge, a finely broken pattern adds texture and counters the larger, flowing movements.

Although nearly monochromatic at first glance, the work contains subtle differences in tone, density and reflection. These variations become more apparent over time, giving the composition a changing presence without losing its clarity.
