In Gedankenkarussell I, fragments of colour and line move freely across an open canvas. An orange-red gesture forms a loose vertical axis, surrounded by purple fields, burgundy lines and smaller shapes in blue, yellow, pink and gold. The marks remain distinct yet connected, as if each belongs to a larger train of thought.

The work reflects Vera Klaus’s interest in painting as an immediate, responsive process. Soft stains alternate with quick lines, splashes and more tactile passages. Their changing directions give the image its lively rhythm while leaving space for individual details to emerge.
