This artwork by Noah Arends exemplifies her signature approach, where colour, texture, and textile merge into a layered composition. Inspired by fashion photography, Noah transforms found imagery through a meticulous process of collage, digital editing, and textile printing. The printed fabric, originally soft and fluid, is reshaped into a structured form, creating a dynamic interplay between image, material, and depth.
With a focus on hidden details and artisanal layering, her work challenges perceptions of traditional textile art. By stretching and manipulating textiles over frames or wooden structures, she redefines the medium, stripping the image of its commercial context and presenting it as an independent artistic statement. This compact yet impactful composition invites viewers to explore the tension between fashion, abstraction, and materiality.

In Interference Noah Arends explores the fragile balance between disruption and harmony. Flowing bands of icy blue and deep black are interrupted by striking accents of pink and red, creating a composition that feels both fluid and electric. The surface seems to shift as the eye moves across it, echoing the way perception is never fixed but constantly in motion.
As in much of her work, the starting point lies in images from fashion photography, stripped of their original context and reworked into layered abstractions. The result is a painting that transforms something once commercial into a field of visual energy, a play of rhythm, depth, and hidden details that reveal themselves gradually.
