Looking back on PAN Amsterdam 2025
After nine full days at PAN Amsterdam, we’re taking a moment to look back on what has been one of the most rewarding weeks of our year. It was our second participation at the fair, and once again it proved to be an energising moment for Root Gallery, filled with returning visitors, new connections, and a strong response to the works we presented.
This edition marked the first time we showed Jeske Haak’s work at a fair. Her bronze sculptures immediately stood out: the organic forms, the refined surfaces, and the balance between softness and strength drew many visitors into conversation. It was a meaningful debut, and one that clearly resonated.
The glass sculptures by Lisette Schumacher were extremely well received. Their depth of colour, clarity and presence in the booth sparked a great deal of interest throughout the week. Lisette’s Dawn paintings were also frequently mentioned by visitors, works that invite viewers to slow down, take their time, and look again, something that was noticeable in the way people gathered around them.
Many works by Jan Theun van Rees found new homes during the fair, as did works by Donald Schenkel and Sophie de Vos. It is always special to see visitors connect so directly with the pieces, and we are grateful for the trust collectors place in the artists we represent.
To everyone who visited us at PAN, thank you. Whether you have been following the gallery for years or discovered us for the first time, we appreciate the time you spent with us. Your enthusiasm made these nine days memorable.
Although the fair has ended, part of the presented works can still be viewed. If you would like to see a work again in a quieter setting, we would be happy to arrange a viewing.
For those who prefer exploring online: our website now shows an updated selection of available works, including pieces from the fair. You are welcome to browse, request further details, or place an order directly, we assist personally with every step, from questions to delivery.
We look back on this year’s PAN with a great deal of gratitude and momentum. Thank you to our artists for their dedication and new work, and to everyone who supported us throughout the week.
We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
