With happy place, Vera Klaus brings together all the elements that define her work: layered gesture, delicate line, confident colour, and a sense of playful freedom. But more than anything, this large-scale piece feels like a landscape of emotion, one you’re invited to walk through.

The title may sound simple, but in this painting it becomes something layered and expansive. Marks appear like echoes of a thought or a mood. Bright reds and oranges flicker beside subtle pastels, soft fades contrast with sharp outlines. There's humour, softness, curiosity, all coexisting in one frame.
As with most of her work, the composition emerged through movement and improvisation, guided by music and mood. There’s no fixed centre here. It’s a place to wander.
