Some feelings speak for themselves. strahlendes Glück - “radiant happiness” - bursts with colour and motion, yet leaves space between the marks. It’s not loud, but undeniably present.
Spray-painted layers in orange, green and purple stretch across the canvas like a moment unfolding. Pink and gold gestures trace a path through it all, while a sketched motif near the bottom corner adds a quiet sense of grounding. The composition feels open, but held together by rhythm and care.
As always, Vera Klaus works from intuition. Sound, movement, materials, all play a role in shaping what happens on the surface. The title doesn’t explain the work, but offers a suggestion: maybe this is what happiness looks like when you stop trying to define it.
