warme Umarmung - “warm embrace” - is one of those works that feels as if it came together in a single breath. Bold, fluid gestures intersect with delicate drips, cloud-like stains and sharp black lines. Together they form a composition that is energetic, raw and surprisingly tender.

The canvas seems to hold a memory of movement. Vera Klaus paints from a place of intuition, allowing the materials to guide her. There is no plan, just response: to sound, to colour, to gesture.
This painting is both open and layered, bright orange washes run into lilac shapes, a thick oval grounds the piece, while unexpected marks keep the viewer’s eye moving. The result is physical and emotional at once: an embrace made visible.
