Francisca Snel’s Crystal Clear 22 is a hand-blown glass sculpture built around the fine copper mesh of a cleaning sponge. Red-orange glass encloses the mesh alongside dark and transparent passages, making the familiar structure visible within the sculpture. In direct sunlight, the glass casts a sharp orange reflection onto the surface beneath it. The work belongs to Snel’s Crystal Clear series, which brings an overlooked object associated with domestic work into sustained focus as contemporary glass art.
